Q: What are the requirements to become a travel nurse?

A: We're proud to be part of a select group of Joint Commission certified travel agencies, so our nurses are required to have a minimum of one year of experience. Requirements can vary from facility to facility and assignment to assignment. Specialties may require a certain amount of experience before consideration.

Q: How will I get to my travel assignment?

A: The majority of our travelers prefer to drive themselves to their new assignment. However, we are more than happy to arrange airfare if you decide that's the way you want to go! We do recommend bringing your own car so you can explore your new city freely.

Q: What benefits does MSSI offer for travel nurses?

A: Besides offering the highest paying packages in the travel nurse industry, MSSI is happy to offer medical/dental/vision on all assignments that are 13 weeks or longer. We also offer a $500 travel stipend for out-of-state travelers and a $250 travel stipend for in-state travelers. Additional benefits we carry are life insurance, 401(k) plans, MSSI reps that are available 24/7, and company-paid housing (fully furnished, private) or generous weekly housing stipends.

Q: Can I travel with family, friends, or pets to my assignments?

A: Yes, travel nursing is a great way to explore the country with your family or friends. If you choose our company-paid, completely furnished and private housing, your specialist will work with you to find housing that fits your needs.

Q: What about housing? Where will I live during my travel assignment?

A: We have a couple of different options. Check out this article from our blog.

Q: How much do travel nurses make?

A: Your pay will vary from assignment to assignment, but on average your salary will range anywhere from $45-60 per hour as a Registered Nurse. At MSSI, we will always disclose the pay rate for assignments you're interested in before you even apply. For more information on travel nurse salaries, click here
